I wanted to know more about both the R129 and the R107 SL models so I bought both Volume 1 and Volume 2. Both are helpful with good pictures of the different engine and exterior and interior options. Both books also contain good information on the changes over the years with the engines and features. Very helpful information on the paint and option codes for the cars. Both also contain good reviews of the models from a potential purchase perspective. I found it so helpful that I am now the proud owner of a 2000 SL500. Thank you for the great reference.
I found this book to be most informative. So many books on other cars and motorcycles, it is hard to find good reference material on older, shall i say, almost classics like the 107sl. I am in the middle of restoring a 77 450sl and this book has been helpful with decoding what should be on this car. A good reference source for me that i have page marked and will use again. Keep up the great work.
I recently purchased an R107 450SL with the European Specifications and wanted to learn more about my car. The book was a good start and compiled much information that I already had into one place. There was some new information for me, but i would have liked more. Lots of good photos to enhance the text.
I think this book is most suitable for either those who already own an SL or are thinking about getting one. These cars are a special breed, and this book highlights the unique features of these cars in an approachable way. The author brings together a lot of information that I have not seen in one place before, particularly regarding the development history and the mechanical issues specific to each model.
Perfect size and content. A must have for anyone serious about purchasing a 107 SL.
Great technical details and good buyers guide. I especially enjoyed the pictures of 1970s MB. I thing more research needed on buyer careabouts.
Contains a wealth of information, clearly written by a true expert.
By far the most complete and up to date book on Mercedes R107. Beautiful photos and really helpful information. Highly recommended
